Overview

Delivered new by Broadway Autos (Cricklewood) Ltd in February 1968 to its first owner Victor International Plastics Ltd, Cricklewood Trading Estate, London, this Aston Martin DB6 left the factory in its very handsome Oystershell over Red Connolly with factory options, Borg Warner Automatic, power steering, heated rear screen, chrome roadwheels, power aerial, safety belts, 3-ear hubcaps, whitewall tyres and 7 pints anti-freeze!

It is unclear how long Victor International Plastics kept the car but by 1985 it had been exported to the USA, having been last registered in the state of Colorado before being returned to the UK in 1999, by which time it had changed colour to black and was sporting a Webasto roof. It was purchased by a Mr Southern from Preston who immediately started a course of restoration which included a re-spray in Silver Birch, a re-trim in Red leather and replacement of various mechanical items. He used the car sparingly during his tenure covering just 1,000 miles between 2001 and 2009 as MOT's on file show, and eventually parted with the DB6 in 2016 when it was acquired by the current keeper.

A new, fresh and complete restoration commenced in 2017 which included body and chassis fabrication where necessary, another bare metal re-spray in its original Oystershell and complete interior trim also to original specification, a complete engine re-build to 4.2 Cosworth spec, dyno tested to 298 bhp @ 5,800 rpm, and re-build of all major mechanical components, axle, uprated suspension, brakes etc using new parts where original items couldn't be retained. The Webasto roof was removed and the auto gearbox was replaced by a new 5 speed manual unit.

This exacting restoration was completed in 2022 and apart from shakedown the car has been unused since. The DB6 presents in a superb condition sporting its original colour and trim specification and comes with a comprehensive record of restoration.
