Overview

This V8 Vantage left the Newport Pagnell factory in October 1983 in its original Rosso Nero paintwork with Magnolia piped Burgundy hide and Beige carpets. It didn’t travel very far from the factory to its first owner, a Mr McLoughlin from Box End in Bedfordshire, who had minimal use of the car, apart from being employed by EON Productions as the soundtrack car for Timothy Dalton’s V8 Vantage in the Bond movie ‘The living Daylights’!! The movie was released in 1987 by which time this V8 Vantage had passed through Aston Martin Sales to a Mr O’Brien from Surrey at which point it had covered a mere 3,000 miles. The car continued to be maintained by Aston Martin Works for several years until 1992 when a change of keeper brought it to the attention of Desmond J Smail Ltd who took over the maintenance. Desmond sold the car in 1994 to a Mr Brennand and subsequently to a Mr Blythe from Aberdeenshire in 1995 by which time it had completed 69,000 miles. Regular maintenance continued in Scotland with Murray Motor Company, Edinburgh until Mr Blythe parted with it in 1997 when it was sold to Mr Farrell from Wokingham. Farrell used the car and maintained it regularly before parting with it in 2002 at 92,000 miles when it returned to Scotland in the hands of Mr Savage. The car remained mostly in conditioned storage during his tenure, and although some maintenance work was done, a mere 2,000 miles had been completed when it came into the care of Runneymede Motor Co 10 years later in 2012. Runneymede then carried out a restoration that included a re-paint, re-trim, sills, suspension re-build, axle re-build etc. The V8 Vantage passed briefly to a Mr Daburn from West Sussex in 2014 before returning to its place of origin when it was purchased by Mr Wilson from Stony Stratford, just a few miles from Newport Pagnell! Mr Wilson purchased the car with 95,000 miles on the clock and had the car regularly serviced and maintained with brake and suspension overhauls in the capable hands of Oselli before coming to Desmond J Smail with a desire to sell in 2022. This rare car has since been exceptionally well maintained by D J Smail ltd, remains in superb condition and comes with a very comprehensive history, original owners handbook and service voucher book.
