This Honda Integra was acquired by Desmond in 2003 for the sole purpose of converting it into a competitive track car. He immediately sent it to race car specialists Mardi Gras Motorsport for conversion.
Mardi Gras re-built the car with a Honda Mugan 250hp engine, Sadev 6 speed sequential gearbox, Spoon limited slip diff, uprated drive shafts, upgraded brakes with larger discs & 6 pot AP callipers, 17” wheels, ATL saver cell 100 lite fuel tank, uprated KW coil over suspension, adjustable anti-roll bars, AIM dash with built in data logger and AP air jacks.
A full roll cage was also fitted with racing seat & harness, removeable quick release steering wheel and fire system.
The result was a highly competitive car that Desmond raced for several years. This included five 24hr races at Silverstone where it classified in all races and was class winner in two, it also performed in numerous Britcar endurance races winning 8 of them and appeared in several AMOC invitation races. It also won the Dave Allen Trophy at Castle Coomb in 2014. Race preparation was carried out in all cases by Mardi Gras Motorsport.
