Overview

The Jaguar E-Type Series 3 was introduced in June1971 and showcased the new Jaguar 5.3 litre 272hp V12 engine. It utilised the longer wheelbase of the previous 2+2 coupé for both roadster and fixed head versions for improved driveability and more space, with uprated brakes, ventilated front discs, power steering, wider tyres and flared wheel arches as standard. Automatic transmission was also offered as an option, something previously unavailable in roadster form.

The most sought-after Series 3 E-Types are original UK registered roadsters with manual gearbox as you see here!

This Series 3 V12 E-Type Roadster was first registered in April 1972 and although little is known of its early history it probably underwent restoration in the early 90's, like many others, but remained virtually unused until purchased by its current keeper in 1997 in exceptional condition with just a few hundred miles on the clock since restoration. The E-Type has been used sparingly since then despite being regularly and well maintained according to the many invoices and MOT records on file. The car now shows just 2,600 miles and although it remains in mechanically good order it is showing some signs of age cosmetically, but is perfectly useable as it is or could be enjoyed by someone with a small project in mind?
